Where have you been?

I've been here, honest...well, not here but painting and working and painting and making signs and more work.  That my friends is my life!  :)  It's been a while but I've been mainly concentrating on my Facebook page Refreshed Renewed Recreated lots of new fun stuff there.  With my lack of time, it's hard to keep up with multiple social media forums.

Picking up where I left off early March, here's the finished bedroom set done in Annie Sloan's Old Ochre...love how it turned out!  I've sold a nightstand and chest of drawers already, just waiting for someone to take the dresser and other nightstand to it's new forever home!!!

Oh yeah!!!  It's here!!!!!!!
Annie Sloan is in my house...well, her paint is!!

I've already cracked it open and started on the bedroom suite that's been taking up space in my dining room for 6 months.  It's soooo smooth! I'm pretty sure this whole 5 piece set isn't going to take any time at all to complete...here's a sneak peek!!

I am off to apply another coat...sooo fun!!!

SOLD!!

I'm not sure if I mentioned it here or not but I sold my very first piece a couple weeks ago and you wouldn't believe how happy and excited I am!!!  I took full advantage of Kijiji and listed a couple pieces and within a day I had requests for 2 of them.  Sadly one didn't pan out but the Sofa Table did...I hope she's very happy in her new home, I will miss her!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Virginity Pop!!!

...will commence tomorrow night!!!!  :) :)

A week ago Friday I ordered my first can of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint from my local Stockist Malenka Originals and had it shipped to my office so I wouldn't have to worry about missing the post office here in my little village...then I proceeded to get sick with the flu for a week, even took time off work which I never do so that sweet little package has been sitting on my desk patiently waiting for me since Monday afternoon, right after I left for home.  Big Sigh!!  Just my luck I guess but good things come to those who wait, right?

I've used Annie's Soft Wax's, clear and dark almost since the beginning but I've been making my own DIY chalk paint out of paint that matches my décor (leftover trim paint, etc.) and it's worked perfectly for the pieces I wanted to do for own home.  I also love working with Martha Stewart and Americana Decor's chalk paints for smalls like bottles, frames, little tables, etc. but I've been itching to try the world renowned paint from the master!  Tomorrow I'm going to get that chance!!!

I ordered a quart of Old Ochre, and a sample pot 8oz of both French Linen and Coco...plus a new can of Annie Sloan's Clear Wax since I'm almost out!  It's going to adorn a beautiful bedroom suite that I acquired from my brother with lots of fun detail that's been sitting in my dining room since last summer...I can hardly wait to get started and get that gorgeous set to a new home for someone to relove in their own way!!

Happy Refreshing!

My First Purchace and DIY Chalk Paint Table

Last update for today...I think!  :)

This is my very first project completed.  Bought off of a Facebook yardsale site for $30.00.  It is a table handcrafted in Mexico and had a lot of water damage on the top...something about a college party that needed a table in the rain...crazy college kids!!  lol  I sanded as best I could and actually decided I liked the tattered look of it so I stained the top and painted the skirt and legs in a DIY chalk paint color I got from my brother (it helps when you're brother in in the painting business himself ;)) then clear and dark waxed the piece to distress.  I love it and even though it's way to big for my little living room...it's found it's home!!!

Pretty Tables

Couple of cute little tables I redid to spruce them up. Both up for sale on my Facebook page.

Pick a Color, Any Color!!!

And the one that just wouldn't "finish"...it went from pink to charcoal, to teal back to charcoal...and this is the finished piece!  I'm in Love and would so love to keep it but it doesn't match my décor...darn.
